On the project
Great personalities, each forming a whole epoch within his time, are represented in the new organ project “The Music of the Great”.
The concert includes not only the music by great composers like J.S. Bach, W.A. Mozart, A. Salieri, P.I. Tchaikovsky, but some compositions by other great personalities, famous for their discoveries, philosophy, literature, etc. - Leonardo da Vinci, Friedrich Nietzsche, E.T.A. Hoffmann, Jean-Jacques Rousseau. They, too, wrote music! We also meet here legendary tyrants - Ivan IV the Terrible, Henry VIII – and men glorious in non-musical kinds of art, as A. S. Pushkin, A. A. Tarkovsky. Being picked out of the depths of time, such diversity of voices takes a listener into the cobwebs of human history, where great Music and Great people come into contact, bridging with themselves different epochs, including also our own times – so harsh and fast-paced, but not deprived of talents. The concert programme includes the organ, the harpsichord and the piano. The opening night took place on December 20, 2008.
